The Sports program is a fantastic opportunity for boys to take a very active role in the Marcellin community. It also encourages support and involvement for families by attending and helping with all fixtures. It’s a learning environment that develops physical, emotional and social skills with all our students and I look forward to all boys partaking in as many areas of the program as possible.
The vision of the Sport program is below.
Marcellin participates in the Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria sport program (AGSV) and the Victorian School Rugby Union (VSRU). The sporting program is an integral part of the co-curricular program and aims to provide a high level of school sport for every student. It provides a highly competitive program where students represent the College with great sportsmanship whilst developing physically, mentally and socially. The Sport program aims to compliment sport in the community whilst providing further learning opportunities within the Marcellin community.
The year is full of opportunities for students of all standards to represent the college to the best of their abilities and I look forward to working with as many boys as possible. A reminder that the school policy states that if a student chooses to participate in an activity in the community that is also offered at Marcellin, it is mandatory that the student will represent Marcellin.
The 2017-2018 summer season recommenced last weekend for all teams in Years 8 to 12. With sport starting one day after the start of school I thank all boys for their organization as they made the transition back into sport a smooth one.
