To all members of our school community we would like to welcome you to the 2019 school year. We hope the New Year has started well for you.
Throughout the past week we have addressed students at a variety of year level assemblies. At each of these assemblies we have stressed the importance of making a positive start to the academic year with a clear focus on maximising the learning potential of each student. At each of these assemblies we have highlighted the importance of developing clear goals that focus on improved learning outcomes for 2019.
“A Marist school is a centre of learning, of life ... As a school, it leads students to learn to know, to be competent, to live together and most especially, to grow as persons.”
This statement is taken from the book, In the Footsteps of Marcellin Champagnat. It draws reference to our role as teachers and leaders at Marcellin, challenging us to answer St. Marcellin’s call by educating young people and to ensure that we are providing the best education we can for the boys in our care.
At Marcellin, we draw inspiration from Saint Marcellin’s call to teach young people and foster their learning by encouraging all students to strive for the highest in all they do. As teachers and leaders at Marcellin we are committed to providing the best learning experience and opportunities for your son to develop the skills that will allow him to strive for the highest in whatever it is he chooses throughout his time at Marcellin and into the future.
With this in mind, we refer to Our Vision for Learning, in that as we start a new school year, our focus as a College is to continue to provide all students with authentic learning experiences and provide them with the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. This vision strengthens our commitment to educating and supporting the growth of all students as they grow from boys to fine young men in the footsteps of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.
We wish you and your son all the best for the year ahead and look forward to sharing this year with you.
