by Assistant Principals (Students) - Wednesday, 7 August 2019, 2:08 PM

On Wednesday 21 August Marcellin College is hosting its annual Inter-House Athletics Carnival. The Carnival will be held at the Doncaster Athletics Club, at Rieschieck’s Reserve on George Street, Doncaster. Students are required to be at the venue by 8.45am with Pastoral Rolls being taken at 8.50am. The day will conclude with presentations and students will be dismissed at approximately 3.20pm from the venue. This important day in the calendar is considered a regular scheduled day therefore no student will be dismissed prior to 3:20pm. A reminder that this is a compulsory school day and as such, any student absence requires a medical certificate.

Buses will be provided to the Athletics Venue for students travelling from Marcellin College or Heidelberg train station. Buses will depart Marcellin College between 8.15am – 8.25am. Buses will depart Heidelberg Station as per a normal school day, between 7.45am and 8.15am. At the conclusion of the event, buses will then return students to Marcellin College or Heidelberg Station. Students are required to attend the day wearing the Official College PE uniform. As this is a normal school day, it is the expectation of the College that students follow our Student Management Guidelines as outlined in the Student Organiser and on the College website. No mobile phones or other electronic devices should be brought to the track to ensure relationships and House Spirit is developed as well as for security reasons. Students seen using these devices may have them confiscated by their teacher. Students are advised to bring their own lunch and adequate fluids; however there will be some food and drink available on the day via the Doncaster Athletics Club canteen. Should the Athletics Carnival need to be cancelled due to inclement weather, the community will be notified the night before via the College Website and Twitter.

We look forward to a positive day celebrating the successful champions of the 2019 Athletics Carnvial!
