Tonight we are fortunate to have Archbishop Peter Comensoli celebrate our Induction and Commissioning Eucharist with us at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We are looking forward to welcoming all young men new to our College community, inducting our Student Leaders for 2020 and praying for all in our community, that we may embrace this year’s theme by engaging with the question: what will you do with your one wild and precious life?
Next week our young men of Years 11 and 12 will be supported to explore this question as they participate in our Senior Retreat program. Our Senior Retreats will provide our young men in Years 11 and 12 with the opportunity to continue to grow as "good Christians and good citizens" as they undertake activities designed to help them better know themselves and the support available to them. A gentle reminder for all parents/guardians of young men in Years 11 and 12: if you haven't completed your son's Consent2Go documentation for Retreat, please do so as soon as possible.
In tonight’s Gospel Reading, we will hear from Saint Matthew (Mt 6:24-34) who reminds us that God cares for all Creation, from the birds in the sky to the flowers in the field, and loves us always. Matthew exhorts us to have confidence in God’s love for us and not to worry – may we all take heed of this wisdom this week.
